Welcome to Charlottesville ~ rated the #1 city to live in recently. It's a gorgeous town, honestly. I am a third year at the University of Virginia studying in the College of Arts and Sciences. I wanted to do this town justice since the community has given so much to me in my three years. I hope you all enjoy my page and if you have any additions you'd like to make about what the city, let me know. I mean, I'll have to check it over since I OWN THIS TOWN. haha. jealous? No, I'm kidding. Sort of. Anyways, let me know.
A Little Bit About Life in My Town
"Just about every other school in Virginia likes to bash UVA kids for being 'pretentious' and 'snobs.' In other words, they get called out for thinking they're better than everyone else. Well, if you went to the school in Virginia with the most stringent admissions requirements, best overall athletic program, most beautiful campus and coeds, most successful and famous alumni, the most storied social scene, was founded by Thomas Jefferson, and all that happened to be in what was voted the #1 city to live in America, well you'd think you were the shit too." - ESPN magazine
Welcome to the grounds-side of Charlottesville where we spend our days playing ultimate frisbee on the quad, eating off the downtown mall, reading in the gardens, and our nights out fratting down Rugby and bar hopping on the Corner. Seriously, who wouldn't want to be us? As for me, I am a third year who absolutely loves every second I spend at the University. For all of my friends, the motto is "work hard, play hard" and it's a motto we all seem to abide by. Classes are hard, especially this year as we prepare for law school, med school. business careers or what have you. But when I can get away from one of the 4 libraries in central grounds, I love to go hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway area, running anywhere around grounds, or hang out with my awesome Alpha Phi's. I can usually be found in the Student Activities Center with the other leadership consultants working on some consulting/outreach project. Well, that's all I can think of right now to say about the Ville. It's pretty much the Jam.
Personal Interests
I have SO many interests that pertain to Charlottesville.
Unfortunately, my two favorite things to do: go to the beach and shop, aren't worthwhile hobbies up here. Regardless, I keep busy.
Like I said before, I am a leadership consultant. So pop on by the SAC in Newcomb and say hi. I'd love to show you around and give you a couple pointers on getting involved in the UVa community. There's just so much to do!
I also LOVE fashion: designing, modeling, reading about it, writing about it. Anything. As a member of the Fashion Design Club, I get to model and design, so I spend a lot of my time putting together Bad ass collections for the spring and fall fashion shows.
I am sooo lucky and get to hang out with two Somali refugees, Anima and Fatuma, weekly. They are 4 and 8 and totally adorable. They love to learn, laugh, run around, play and be girly which is a thrill for me and the other three girls who hang with them. Anima is an amazing reader and is learning English very quickly. Fatuma has recently begun violin lessons and will be playing solos in no time!
I am the goalie for the Alpha Phi Society inner-tube water polo team. Don't mess with us. The only way we can be beat is disqualification (sorry Walker! we'll get them next year for you!)
I LOVE my sorority - Alpha Phi - and have too many positions within the house to even list here. To sum it up, they are the best group of women I've ever met and I'm way proud to be a part of them. All of the girls are intelligent, laid-back, beautiful, hilarious, hard-working, nice and genuine. I've never found a group of women quite like them and I can't wait for our new members to join in January! Within the soror I hav two littles - Liz and Anna- my big Megan, and tons and tons of other family members because we just keep adopting new girls. How could you not when they are just so awesome?
As for my free time, I like to run with Valerie or Katie, watch movies and drink wine with John, talk with Diego, eat wings with LP, and I am always up for a new adventure.

I'm about to finish my third year of college! This is unreal. Two of my roommates left this morning so now I only live in the same room as 1 other girl...haha. Our house next year is going to be amazing so anyone reading this should come on down for a football game and enjoy the life~ I am looking forward to a great summer in Virginia Beach though :-)

I just signed up for this year's Relay for Life in Charlottesville. I'm trying to reach a personal goal of $100 which is totally feasible...especiialy with a little help. Cancer is a huge issue in my family- it affected both of my grandmothers as well as many other relatives as I'm sure it has affected your life in some way or another. If you'd like to help me achieve my goal, I'd really appreciate a donation at

The weather has been WAY too nice lately for January. I have always looked forward to snowboarding at Wintergreen (just 25 minutes away), but I'm not even sure if I will bother bringing up my board this year. The girls who rush this year will have it a lot easier than girls in the past. I wore my UGG boots to every house and then switched to heels. haha. Plus running from house to house in heels on ice wasn't fun. I guess I'll enjoy the nice weather while I'm still home at the beach!

I agree, it needs to be more on a personal level. How about calling it just Messages instead?
Nice work on your page also. Come visit me in Coventry Rhode Island when you get a chance.

Hey those are all good ideas for renaming this Guestbook thing. Only time I ever signed a 'Guestbook' was at a wedding or a funeral... too formal for me, but I'm an informal guy.... Maybe someone should raise the issue in the Suggestion Box section of the Forum and the people who run this website will do something about it! Especially now that they made it so we can put pictures in here. (By the way, this is one of my new lucky putter).

Dropping a line? Sup Page? Curious George Page? My Chat? Star Date Log (Showing my age)? Kwik Note? Kwik Chat? I don't know but maybe this will spur other ideas.

I love the idea of a place where people can write notes to each other, but I would like to rename it something other than "Guest Book". Who's with me? What do you think it should be called?
