Welcome to Centerport, more precisely Huntington Beach.
A Little Bit About Life in My Town
Even though we're only an hour by train from New York city, when you've got your butt in a beach chair enjoying the water, it's a world away. Centerport is mostly residential with a few delis, restuarants a Motel and other small businesses. Huntington is the big town nearby. Great shopping, dining and entertainment there.
Huntington beach is only one of the three beautiful beaches in Centerport. From May until September we take full advantage of the great swimming, boating, and fishing that's right in our back yard. The Atlantic Ocean is just a 30 Minute drive. If you want to hang with the beautiful people they're in NYC in the off season and Out East in the sunmmer. Montauk and the Hamptons are a wonderful road thip any time of year. Great winerys and pumpkin picking.
Personal Interests
The are 700 houses in Huntington Beach and I think most of them have too many kids. We spend alot of time with family beach parties, waching the kids sports activities and supporting the local teams. You are either Mets -Jets- Islanders OR Yankees- Giants-Rangers. Anyone can root for the Ducks!
We're a big Lacrosse Family. Check out the Club web site for some great action shots and other info.
The summers are punctuated by some great annual events:
Lobsterfest - Its a huge tailgate on the beach... great food and dancing.
The Lacrosse Jamboree - Signals the ending of the school year, start of summer. 1000 kids, lots of games and an expert team on the grill. What could be better!
Family day. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat all day long .This crowd takes it seriously!
Firemans party - These guys know how to throw a shindig. Wiilie Steel and his boys keep the crowd dancing while the FD puts on a big spread. Check out Willies youtube blues video
Check out Pix on the HBCA web site. Click on directory of pictures. Don't miss the slideshow for the 2006 family day or the 2003 Lobsterfest toga party (Dowling pix).
We love Knollwood Beach. Check out Alice's Constant Wonder link up top. Your kids will love it!

Wow! Sounds like a great family place. Only rivaled by the Maine Coast. Keep up the good work, Nora
