Most people don't like to use their real names on the Internet, for privacy reasons.
With a Username, you can create a name for use on the OnTheMapUS website.
It can be anything you would like, but it must be more than 4 characters long (and must comply with our
Terms and Conditions regarding offensive content).
Username will be used for Sign In, along with a password. It will also display if you leave comments on a Claim Owner's Page, or participate in a discussion topic in The Forum.
If you become a Claim Owner, you will have the ability to display a name other than your Username (a Display Name) on your Claim or Claims.
