It could not be easier to become a Claim Owner (Citizen) of OnTheMapUS!

To find out if your town is available, simply click on Buy Your Town, and put in your zip code. Claim Ownership of a non-city town (see City List and Availability of Cities) is only $100. If your town is available, we will tell you instantly. If it is already Claimed by someone else, we will tell you that too, and give you the opportunity to 1) visit the current Claim Owner's page (you can make an offer to the Claim Owner there) or 2) just continue to visit places (towns) OnTheMap.  

All major credit cards are accepted as payment for Claims.

OnTheMapUS is kicking off its Virtual Life with a One Time Offer! For a brief initial period, we are re-creating the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889! What this means is that for a limited time only, we are going to set aside our policy of only granting Claims to people who verifiably live in the towns they are claiming, and allow Squatters to claim ownership. Squatters are essentially speculators who don't live in the town, but have bought the rights to it in order to profit from the Claim. (How do I profit from a Claim?)

To protect the integrity of OnTheMapUS in the longer term, we have instituted special rules for claim ownership by Squatters.

So, please be aware that, for the brief initial Land Rush period, instead of the tens of thousands or more* you would normally be competing against for ownership of your town, there are potentially millions.**
